Medical Writer Manager

As Medical Writer Manager, you will be responsible for working with and developing our colleagues in the medical writing team. The team currently consists of five skilled medical writers, all with a PhD in fields related to Life Science. Your role includes line management of this team as well as developing our business area of Medical Writing to the next level. You will implement business related strategies and processes and lead the day-to-day operations in the Medical Writing team. This entails scoping of tasks, resource allocations, and line management. In addition, the role may also entails providing medical writing support for reports, regulatory documents, and publications, depending on the person.
This is a full-time position with flexible working hours and the possibility to work remotely from several countries within Europe. The Medical Writer Manager will report to Pharmetheus deputy Chief Operating Officer, and the preferred start date is as soon as possible.
Profile
Pharmetheus is searching for an experienced leader with a background from a relevant area (medical writing, drug development, quality etc) and with successful leadership experiences as well as business development, to be responsible for the ongoing development of Pharmetheus Medical Writing Team, and to lead the development and expansion of this area. The capacity to lead a team remotely is also important since the team is spread across countries in Europe.
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated person with previous experience from working as a leader within Life Science, with strong leadership skills, and with a proven ability to develop and manage team performance and to work effectively. Preferably you have been part in developing a business area.
You need to have good cooperation and communication skills. You motivate and take initiative to business development and see business opportunities. It is also important to be well organized, with excellent planning and time management capability and a highly developed analytical mindset to be able to deliver in this important role.
Qualifications and experiences
• PhD or Master’s degree in Life Science
• Several years of leadership experiences
• Experience from relevant area (medical or scientific writing, drug development, quality etc.)
• Good IT skills and use of standard office tool
• Excellent written and spoken scientific English
• Other languages are an advantage
• Several years of experience in medical/and/or scientific writing is meritorious
• Experience from developing a business area is a merit
• Experience of leading a team remotely is meritorious
