Senior Buyer
Gyros Protein Technologies is looking for a strategic Senior Buyer with background and experience in Life Science. The Senior Buyer is primarily responsible for providing Procurement services in support of the Uppsala, Sweden facility, including, but not limited to, all production lines, maintenance support, and indirect materials required for the organization (R&D, Service, Production and Admin).
Responsibilities and tasks;
• The procurement of raw materials to support product lines from direct suppliers who have been selected through the quality system process.
• Manages costs to best applied standards and negotiates best cost solution while maintaining the best possible quality.
• Establish and maintain raw material stocking strategy and work with Director of Operations to establish finished goods stocking strategy.
• Selects the best supplier who will provide the service or material required in support of all production and maintenance operations. Manages suppliers through the Gyro Supplier Management process in support of rules and regulations. Maintain and develop relationships with key suppliers.
• Provides feedback on the performance of a supplier by monitoring on-time delivery, pricing, and quality expectations.
• Responsible for procurement activities at new Product introduction and new system data base tools.
• Ensures that product specifications, and any other necessary information are provided to the supplier when asking them to provide a competitive quotation.
• Be available to answer any questions or provide technical support when needed by a supplier.
• To run activities that support the company’s sustainability agenda.
Profile

Qualification:
• Relevant academic degree or experience and knowledge acquired in another way
• Background and experience in life science / instrument manufacturing (medical device, analytical instruments)
• Experience of working in a regulated and quality-controlled business
• Experience in negotiating contracts and agreements
• Experience of working with logistics is an advantage
• Management experience is an advantage
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• Highly self-motivated and have the desire to be completely responsible for own work
• Detailed oriented and flexible
• Experience working across global multi-functional teams
• Ability to self-manage productivity improvements and ensure team collaboration
• CRM/ERP (experience with NetSuite a plus)
• Effective communication- and interpersonal skills
• Ability to set up supplier agreements in writing
• Ability to travel if required
• Excellent English and Swedish skills both verbally and in writing
