Medical Scientific Liason (MSL)- Neurology TILLSATT
The position
To further strengthen the Swedish Medical Affairs team, Merck is recruiting an MSL in neurology. This is a stimulating and dynamic position in a team characterized by enthusiasm and action where your efforts make a real difference.
As a national MSL, you will, in alignment with the Medical Manager have the Medical responsibility of the Neurology therapeutic area. Overall you will reinforce and preserve the scientific image and reputation of Merck, being a key binding function between science and business and an independent bridge between medical and sales. Examples of activities are educational sessions, clinic visits, advisory boards and round table discussions containing scientific information or discussions around the neurology area. Other meetings, such as national meetings with invited international lecturers are planned and implemented together with the team.
To be successful in the role as MSL at Merck you need excellent communication skills with ability to influence, collaborate, build relations and trust with others. Further, you feel comfortable to apply your medical/scientific/clinical knowledge and experience when you operate on peer to peer level with physicians and nurses. You understand clinical data and manage to interpret it to business strategies and objectives. To fit this position, you need high energy, operate independently, high degree of flexibility and take own initiatives. You must be able to work in cross-functional teams.

Main responsibilities
• Establish relations and liaise with national and regional health care providers (HCP) in the neurology therapeutic area
• Provide accurate, balanced, unbiased, and timely medical and scientific information regarding Merck´s products to healthcare providers
• Actively participate in national and regional medical and scientific conferences
• Support health care providers with educational initiatives
• Identify and develop new projects in collaboration with neurology nurses
• Liaise with patient association groups (PAGs)
• Support local study programs
• Engage in the launch of a new product in MS

You are expected to cooperate with the following:
Internal:
• Other medical staff in Neurology TA in Sweden
• Other departments with frequent interactions: Market Access team; Commercial; Local Regulatory affairs, QA and PV respectively.
External:
• Interact – participate in discussions, give presentations, support contract negotiation – with HCP´s in the appointed region, investigators and customer / patient organizations
