The Regional Sales Manager Nordics position
ZEISS has a strong position in the ophthalmology market offering high quality products and solutions to healthcare and Ophthalmologists in both the private and public sector.
In ophthalmology, the company offers mainly products and solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, as well as systems and consumables for cataract, retinal and refractive surgery. In Microsurgery the Carl Zeiss Meditec Group provides visualization solutions for minimally invasive surgical treatments.
ZEISS broad and high-quality ophthalmology portfolio offers a potential “one stop shop” solution for Ophthalmologists, also adding valuable service engagement and FORUM, a tailormade IT system for communication of patient data and images that helps healthcare to simplify the workflow and be more efficient.
ZEISS is currently recruiting a Regional Sales Manager Nordics ophthalmology with a special focus on the products and solutions within the prioritized Glaucoma and Retina portfolio.
The Regional Sales Manager will become expert for the portfolio of diagnostic equipment, with special focus on the Retina products.
The role will have direct responsibility for the business, customers and sales in the territory mid-northern half of Sweden (there is an Account Manager colleague responsible for south Sweden). The sales model for the product portfolio is based on both direct sales and tenders. The role will also plan, coordinate and support the Glaucoma and Retina business in Finland and at times when appropriate also in Denmark and Norway.
The Regional Sales Manager Nordics reports to the Director Nordics, Sales ophthalmology. The role has a close relationship and collaboration with different colleagues and functions within ZEISS Nordic. Important internal ZEISS partners are among other, Account Managers, Field Service Engineers, Customer service, Application specialist and Manager Nordics, Medical Data Solutions (FORUM).
The Regional Sales Manager Nordics will have a continuous contact with other relevant stakeholders at ZEISS Germany (Munich). With the role follows a solid introduction programme and a valid product education.

Qualifications, experience and competency profile
We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager Nordics with the ability to develop the business and create strong long-term relations within ophthalmology.
The position is based at the ZEISS Nordic headquarters at Gärdet, Stockholm, combined with home office. The role requires some travelling in Sweden and the Nordics as well as fluent Swedish and English.
Experience, skills and competency
· Solid healthcare sales experience, preferable within ophthalmology or from Medical devices with excellent sales results
· Alternatively; ophthalmology nurse or Optician with sales talent and a genuine interest for business and sales
· Proactive ‘can do’ attitude
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· Collaborative
· Autonomous, assumes ownership and responsibility for delivery of agreed objectives
· Professional in customer interactions
· Commercially aware
· Excellent communication skills (written, verbal & listening)
· Analytical and business planning skills
· Experience of tender business is an advantage
· Experience from clinical educations and medical equipment demonstrations is an advantage
Education and knowledge
University degree or other required experience (also Nurse or Optician)
Fluent in Swedish and English (oral and written)
PC Literate/MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
