Technical Support Center Specialist

Primary objectives of the position
As Technical Support Center Specialist, you will be part of a multicultural team and function as the point of contact for the customers in case of technical and software support requests, questions, incidents and problems on BD Biosciences Flow Cytometry platforms. In this role, you will identify the customer’s problem by asking relevant questions and prescribe the necessary actions to solve it. If a solution can’t be found, you will route the problem to the field based organisation. Furthermore, you are responsible for the maintenance, repair of the instruments in our training center, and will be working local or with European ‘technical Service improvement projects as needed. You will continually update and develop your knowledge by participating in European Training coerces, field activities, team meetings or special projects.
The BD European headquarter is situated in Erembodegem, Belgium, approximately 20 minutes from Brussels. You will be part of a team of four Technical Support Center Specialists and you will be responsible for Scandinavian and UK customers. You will have the possibility to be offered an expatriate status which will be included in the remuneration package.

Education: Degree in electro mechanics or in case of a biology degree, experience with Flow Cytometry and a strong technical focus
Language: Fluent spoken/written in English and Swedish or any other Scandinavian language
Professional experience: Experience in the operation and routine maintenance of laboratory equipments together with a high desire to develop technically
Experience in field service engineering
Biomedical Engineering role in a hospital of in a laboratory environment
Knowledgably and used to PCs or MAC computer systems and experienced in using MS Office
Specific skills/knowledge: You are eager to stay current in technical knowledge, to troubleshoot and to provide information back to customers in a helpful, courteous, positive and professional manner
You have a proven ability of effective written and verbal communication and listening skills and strong interpersonal skills with an ability to effectively communicate and handling customers over the telephone and in person
You have excellent analytical and problem solving skills
You have a proven strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction and are diligent, process oriented and well organised
You have a proactive willingness for learning and self development
