Country Manager Scandinavia

The position
Start-up phase:
Under the guidance and directions of the Business Unit Director, the role holder is responsible for successfully starting up and managing all aspects of the NE business within the Scandinavian market. First focus will be on the dialysis business unit and at a later stage also the other business units.

When business is established:
The Country manager
- develops, together with the Business Unit Director, country specific business objectives that are aligned to and effectively contribute to the company business objectives.

- is responsible, as a representative, for all commercial activities within scope of responsibility. Effective management of the country profit and loss, personal contact with key clients (including healthcare authorities/ministries) and day-to-day management of business operations are within the roles scope.

- prepares country budget, manages and monitors business performance against budget. Providing a timely and accurate management report to Business Unit Director. Is accountable for overall financial business performance within the territory.

- agrees and sets, with functional heads, their personal and business objectives. Effectively manages overall business performance, for all functional areas, in order to achieve agreed business goals and objectives.

- leads team to the achievement of agreed business objectives through effective management and monitoring of performance, against agreed objectives. Ensures country functional team leaders have developed and are effectively implementing strategic and tactical plans within their areas of responsibility.

- develops and implements effective plans for business transformation, manages all aspects of transition and leads team toward sustainable growth. Where required, has responsibility for the transition of territory business operations from distributors to direct Nipro operations.

Main responsibilities

Start up Nipro Scandinavia from scratch.
Develop a business plan and specific sales plan per country: first focus on the dialysis business unit and at a later stage also the other NE business units.
Under the guidance of the Business Unit Director, achieve agreed business objectives for territory. Develop overall business strategy per country and implement the strategy.
Set and agree personal goals and objectives, with Business Unit Director, to develop sustainable and continuous growth for the territory.
Prepare and present annual country budgets. Provide timely and accurate reporting to Regional Sales Manager on country performance to budget. Advise Business Unit Director on any corrective action being undertaken to improve performance in required areas.
Overall responsibility for relations with all legal entities, in area of responsibility, and monitor performance against business objectives.
Guide, coach and lead individuals and teams to the achievement of their personal and functional goals. Act as a role model and set the meet required standard.
Travelling within Scandinavian countries is required.

Qualifications and Experience

BSc in Life Science or Economy. MBA a plus
Renal expertise (dialysis) and experience within this niche
Key account management expertise
2-5 years working experience in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry
Fluent in oral and written English and local language
