National Market Access Manager

Market Access is an increasingly important area for AbbVie. To further strengthen the focus and development in market access, AbbVie is expanding and recruits a National Market Access Manager (NMAM) to the Market Access department.

The NMAMs mission is to secure that important MA preparation for launch metrics are in place at time of launch and other prioritized therapy areas. The key challenge for the NMAM is to add value to key MA stakeholders and Swedish healthcare. It is important to understand the key MA stakeholders, and healthcare needs to be able to create attractive and relevant value propositions.

The NMAM position is highly involved in interacting with internal and external stakeholders driving the market access agenda across the business.

Key responsibilities National Market Access Manager
• Develop relationships with senior stakeholders in national payer structures, county councils and key hospitals in close relationship with Medical
• Influence national and regional payers to achieve prioritization and drug penetration of AbbVie prioritized therapy areas by engaging in National Payer structures, Payers Drug Centra, Clinics Budgeting and Drug utilization
• Overcome barriers to funding by defending product/price/services in drug and HTA reviews, drug lists and hearings
• Develop national and regional engagement plans for prioritized stakeholder segments
• Understand the regional convergences and divergences between county councils and pursue regional strategies by coordinating cross-functional resources
• Coordinate managed introduction process vs payers with pre-launch readiness in clinical data and value assessment
• Anticipate and monitor Contracting & Tendering activity among payers
• Monitor changes in the external environment (payer changes, priority setting, budgetary & tendering processes & developments. treamemt guidelines) and competitive situation in order to anticipate risks and opportunities for market access and advice Brand Teams, Market Access Director and affiliate management team on threats and opportunities.
• Prioritize market access activities together with Market Access Dept and contribute to Market Access functional plan in the NNLRP process.

Within relevant brand team
• Play an active part within relevant brand team: Provide payer perspective and opportunities in brand plans and lead the in-field delivery of payer value activities.

• Form brand strategies, create & design projects to create awareness and evidence around societal value and cost effectiveness of AbbVie relevant brands.

• Develop programs & services to close prescriber – payer gap or implement new value in health care chain

• Articulate need to Medical and HEOR functions on need for value propositions aimed at prioritized market access stakeholders

Experience, Key competencies and skills needed for position

Experience
• Strong track record of national and regional Healthcare payer and /or governmental agency relationship building
• Solid experience from working in the pharmaceutical industry or within healthcare payer/provider or academic institution.
• Candidate has market access or HEOR experience working with hospital management, county council head of clinic, payers or reimbursement /HTA bodies
• Experience from collaboration in cross-functional teams
• Economic or business education is an advantage

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, in order to facilitate internal brand team working and external presentations to authorities and payers.
