Position: Manufacturing Site Manager

Position Description:

SHL Healthcare develops and manufactures medical device and their current capabilities include Sewing, RF Welding and assembly of control units for their Mattress Systems. The operations will start out smaller with a very good potential to grow.

SHL Healthcare is growing and as part of the company development, a new manufacuring site will be set up in Sofia Bulgaria.

PeakSearch is currently recruiting a
Manufacturing Site Manager that will be overall responsible for leading, setting up and running the manufacturing operations. The responsibility for the role will be managing production, sourcing and local HR.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Fluent in Bulgarian and Swedish is an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers’ expectations
• Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff
• Build a strong local culture closely related and connected to SHL Healthcare’s culture and built on their strong values
• Support remote line managers in other legal entities with input on their employees around performance as well as general HR support in work environment, time report approval etc.
• Ensure excellent cooperation between locally and remotely managed functions
• Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping

Additional responsibilities

• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
• Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
• Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
• Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime
• Commit to plant safety procedures
• Support to develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets

Core competencies and knowledge

• Strong general management and demonstrated leadership skills 
• Solid experience from successfully leading teams, preferably within manufacturing. Experience from the medical devices industry is an advantage
• Daily demonstration of a positive, ‘can do’ and service-oriented attitude
• Strong drive and ability to work independently
• Ability to inspire and build strong trust bounds at all levels
• Industry knowledge with an eye towards the future and technology interest
• Experience of working in a global organisation is an advantage
• Ability to multi-task and shift priorities quickly while working under tight deadlines
• Working knowledge of appropriate global regulations, requirements, and standards such as ISO 13485 and ISO 9001
