Medical Manager Nordics


The Nordic Medical Manager Neurology will work closely with Medical Director, MSL, Sales, Marketing and Market Access to develop and execute strategic plans for current and future indications with the Neurology portfolio. There is currently one MSL reporting to the Medical Manager, but the team will be extended with the future development of the portfolio. The Medical Manager is responsible for establishing solid relationships with regional KOLs and other external stakeholders and will engage in exchange of scientific data and sharing of clinical information on a peer-to-peer basis. Eisai is also partnering with another company in the Alzheimer area and it falls under the responsibility of the Medial Manager to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and engage in the sharing of scientific data and clinical information.

The role is field based and reports to the Medical Director Nordics. The role require travelling mainly within the Nordics to meet with various stakeholders and to some extent within the European region.

Main duties/responsibilities
• Close collaboration with Medical Director, MSL, Marketing, Sales and Market Access team to jointly produce and execute strategic plans for current and future indications within current portfolio.
• Be responsible for launching new treatments and indications from a medical perspective across the Nordics
• Collaboration with Nordic Medical Director and Nordic Neurology MSL/s on development of medical strategy and plans.
• Manage and coach the MSL/s in the NBG (Neurology Business Group) team
• To establish new, and build upon the existing, professional relationship with the regional KOL’s. Be responsible for regional opinion leader development and work cross functionally to develop KOLs.
• To provide medical-scientific information regarding Eisai marketed and pipeline drugs according to legal requirements, local code requirement and in collaboration with medical information.
• To organise / lead / present at regional educational meetings and symposiums
• Work with local investigators to support the IIS proposals from concept inception to implementation and publication of study.
• Close contact with clinical trial sites and CROs
• Provide complete medical affairs support for all NBG-related activities including review/approval of promotional material and ensuring adherence to relevant company and country codes of practice.
• Identification of local data requirements and implementation of appropriate strategies to gather and publish these data.
• Identification and development of local Key Opinion Leader strategy as well as rising stars.
• Organize/Lead/Support national/regional Advisory Boards and round table meetings.
• Represent country perspective for European life cycle management.
• Provide active support for local market access activities including stakeholder management, submission development and related projects.
• Provide Regional leadership for congresses taking place in local country.
• Ensure compliance of all NBG related activities in the countries.
• Represent Eisai NBG at key relevant local activities such as meetings with collaborative groups, patient advocacy organisations, etc.
• Take on duties outside of the JD if needed or required
• To implement a human health care project on an annual basis.

Experience and qualifications required
• MSc in Pharmacy, Pharmacology or Bio-medical sciences. PhD or Medical degree is advantageous
• Neurology experience essential
• Intimate knowledge of regional therapy infrastructure including key opinion leaders, major centres, market access and other related activities.
• Adequate clinical knowledge is essential
• Industry experience from similar positions is highly advantageous
• Experience in a management position is advantageous
• Launch experience is mandatory
• Some experience of clinical development, clinical operations, biostatistics, safety and regulatory affairs is desirable.
