The Nordic Organisation
The Nordic team currently consists of 32 people in total in sales, marketing, medical and finance and is expected to grow over the coming years. The Nordic organisation has a clear focus on two therapy areas – Oncology and Neurology. The medical team is led by the Medical Director and consists of two Medical Managers (Oncology and Neurology), four Medical Scientific Liaisons (two in Oncology and two in Neurology), one Regulatory Affairs Manager, one Quality Assurance Manager and two Market Access Managers.

Medical Science Liaison ONCOLOGY - Finland

The position
As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Finland, you will have high impact of the Finnish business and full ownership of your daily activities. As teamwork is essential, you will collaborate very closely with the Nordic medical affairs team and the Finnish field force. You will act on behalf of the medical affairs department, establishing and develop professional relationships with various stakeholders within the area of oncology. You will engage in the exchange of scientific data and sharing clinical information on a peer-to-peer basis. You are responsible for providing fair, balanced, objective, scientific information, provide and arrange educational activities to health care customers and to internal business partners as required by business needs. Your scientific qualifications within oncology will enable you to establish solid relationships among national and Nordic stakeholders.
The role is field based and reports to the Medical Manager Oncology Nordics. The role requires travel mainly within Finland and to some extent in the Nordics and the European region.

Main duties/responsibilities
• To establish new, and build upon the existing, professional relationship with Finnish and Nordic KOL’s. The MSL will be responsible for opinion leader engagements and work cross functionally to engage with HCPs.
• Stay on top of the latest scientific information in the field of Oncology, Eisai products, and have a good knowledge about other current and emerging treatments of patients within this therapeutic area.
• To provide medical-scientific information regarding Eisai marketed and pipeline drugs according to legal requirements, local code requirement and in collaboration with medical information.
• To discuss new research proposals with investigators and provide logistic support in the setting up of new studies.
• Gather medical insights and to support strategy / research/ data generation / educational initiatives.
• To provide medical-scientific presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• To organise/ participate national/Nordic advisory board and round table meetings.
• To proactively gather information on disease area landscape, scientific progress in the area, prescribing habits/treatment/patient pathways etc.
• To organise / host / present at national/Nordic educational meetings and symposiums
• To take an active role in medical stand and handling medical/scientific questions from customers at local /international congresses.
• To work closely with colleagues and collaboration partners and provide necessary support to the Sales and Marketing team, and medical affairs teams, including training.
• To provide internal and external training, including departmental presentations
• To implement a human health care project

Experience and qualifications required
• Scientific background, preferable within the area of Oncology. Degree in pharmacy, pharmacology or biomedical sciences, PhD or medical degree is advantageous.
• Demonstration of high performance in a scientific communications role.
• Industry experience is advantageous.
