Field Service Engineer
This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in processes that will give you the chance to contribute with your ideas and skills, as well as to collaborate with the Nordic management team to start Shimadzu’s business in Norway.
In this role, you will be a part of the Service Team working closely with the Sales Department and other parts of the organisation in the Scandinavian countries.
You will be responsible for performing field service, planned maintenance activities and assist with installations and deinstallations, ensuring Shimadszu’s customers receive top-notch service.
Facts
This is a field-based position, suitable place of residence is in the Oslo region (other locations in Norway may also be possible). There is also a local Shimadzu office in Lillestrøm.
You will report to Lise Pedersen, Service Manager Shimadzu Sweden and Norway.
A valid driver’s license is a must. This role is field based, and will cover mainly Norway. Travelling across Sweden must be expected at occasions. An estimate of about 35-70 overnight stays per year may be needed for the position.
Profile
The ideal candidate has:
- Sound knowledge of chemistry/electrical/laboratory engineering, electronics/mechatronics as engineer or technician
- Academic background in natural sciences
- Preferably professional experience in service of scientific instruments
- A solution-oriented way of working, empathic, and with a service mentality
- Capable of working independently and on one's own responsibility and to set high standards for quality and quantity
- Self-confident and able to work in a team and build good relationships with customers and colleagues
- Customer oriented and with a focus on customer needs and customer satisfaction
- Flexible and willing to travel
- Skilled in MS Office applications
- Fluent in spoken and written Norwegian and good English
Key responsibilities
Your range of duties includes among others:
- Briefing of Shimadzu’s customers in the use of instruments as well as in software
- Installation of instruments at Shimadzu’s customers' premises
- Repair, maintenance, and qualification of systems at Shimadzu’s customers' premises
- Independent management of consumables and spare parts required for work
- Documentation of own activities and used material via SAP R/3
- Work closely with the Sales Department and other parts of the organisation
