Cyber Security Engineer


C-RAD now has an exciting opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to join the Research and Development team based in Uppsala.

It´s a possibility to contribute to C-RAD’s mission to help cure more cancer patients and improve their quality of life, no matter where they live. This is a key position in an innovative, expanding Swedish Life Science company with headquarter in central Uppsala, and with a great team spirit!

As a Cyber Security Engineer your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of the C-RAD products and applications, together with the other Cyber Security Engineer. You two will actively drive C-RAD’s cyber security program, perform the evolving medical device cyber security pre-market threat analysis and risk assessment, in accordance with the overall strategy, to make cyber security an integral component throughout the product development lifecycle for our medical device businesses. The position works in very close cooperation with other departments within the organization.

The Cyber Security Engineer will report to the R&D Manager. The role is a permanent full-time position.


Who are we looking for?


We are looking for a person with an excellent combination of software development skills and knowledge in security principles, to prioritize the functional/technical aspects of the solution and then help the product teams to execute the implementation. The role requires close collaboration with various departments across the organization, supporting cyber security feature prototyping, threat analysis, penetration test and vulnerability assessment. To succeed in this role, you are a true team player with strong communication skills, and with a solution-oriented mindset.


Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's computer science, engineering, mathematics, information management or related field, or equivalent working experience
• Good programming skills in e.g., C# and .NET
• Knowledge in modern software development process and DevOps tools such as Git
• Awareness and strong interest in cyber security threat modelling/risk assessment methods
• Proficient, concise, and articulate verbal and written communication skills to convey cyber security risks to a wide range of audiences including customers, business teams, and technical partners
• Some experience or strong interest in IoT (Internet of Things) device development, especially in Windows platform security and encrypted protocols
• Working or academic experience in network protocols, IT infrastructure and security principles, Windows image configurations, OS hardening, common security controls such as network or host-based firewall and intrusion detection system
• Fluent in English is mandatory, other language skills are an advantage
• A valid work permit for Sweden

Desired skills and experiences:

• Prior experience working within the Healthcare Industry is an advantage but not mandatory
• Knowledge in cyber security standards such as 81001-5-1, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, and FDA and MDR/MDCG cyber security guidelines
• Experience in project management
