Profile
AcuCort seeks a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Director to join the team and play a key role in expanding the company’s presence in the pharma and biotech industries. You will be instrumental in building long-term Commercial Partnerships worldwide for the company’s product, Zeqmelit.
To be successful, you will have an entrepreneurial mindset and a background in business development in life science. You will work closely with AcuCorts' CEO. The Business Development Director is based at the company´s headquarters in Lund and reports to the CEO.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Partnership Development:
• Responsible for building and establishing a Business Development function at AcuCort. Be project lead and coordinator for all Business Development activities.
• Maintain and nurture existing partnerships as well as identify and attract new partners.
• In close collaboration with AcuCort´s CEO, identify, evaluate, and negotiate potential partnerships, collaborations, and licensing opportunities within the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the global healthcare sector.
Market Analysis and Opportunity Assessment:
• Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks within AcuCort's therapeutic areas.
• Evaluate the competitive landscape and provide insights to drive strategic decision-making.
Deal Structuring and Negotiation:
• Support in negotiations and collaborate with CEO as well as legal and regulatory teams to structure and execute licensing agreements, collaborations, and other business development transactions.
• Ensure that all agreements align with AcuCort’s strategic objectives and compliance standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with the CEO, CFO, regulatory affairs, and production teams to align business development activities with the company's overall goals.
• Provide market insights to guide the development of AcuCort’s product portfolio.
Networking and Relationship Building:
• Represent AcuCort at industry conferences, forums, and partnering events to enhance the company’s visibility and foster strategic relationships.
• Cultivate and maintain a network of contacts within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
Qualifications and Experience
• University degree in a relevant field.
• Proven experience in business development or other relevant areas of expertise within the pharmaceutical or biotech industries.
• The ideal candidate has a proven track record of closing licensing deals and a big pharma network.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of the drug development process and regulatory landscape.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Global mindset with the flexibility to travel as required.
• Fluency in Swedish and English in speaking and writing.
