Dental Advisor

Region: Västmanland, Närke, Värmland, Dalarna, Jämtland & Västernorrland

GlaxoSmithKline is a key player in the Oral Healthcare area with a broad and attractive portfolio of leading therapeutical oral care brands. The oral healthcare products are sold both in Mass Market and in Pharmacies.

The dental expert market
Dental clinics and especially Dentists and Dental hygienists are important influencers as experts in the dental care. GSK CH has a specific sales organization targeting this group aiming for their recommendation of the GSK Oral Healthcare products.

In the dental expert segment, the top priority brand is Sensodyne, the leading toothpaste for sensitive teeth. Other important expert brands are Corega (denture care), Biotene (dry mouth symptom management), Corsodyl (gum inflammation) and Corsodaily (bleeding gums, gingivitis and periodontitis).

The opportunity
GSK CH vision is to become the preferred partner for the dental experts within dental healthcare professionals in Scandinavia. To achieve that objective the company is expanding the sales force organization in Scandinavia substantially in the near future.

Role Purpose:
To detail and promote GSK Oral Healthcare products (and other appropriate products) within the dental clinics, health authorities, dental schools, universities and hospitals in order to increase recommendation and endorsement, visibility and in line with company objectives.
To build & maintain relationships with external business contacts.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

1. The Dental Advisor is responsible for the execution and implementation of the detailing and promotional plans in the field for the oral care brands Sensodyne, Corega, Corsodyl, Corsodaily and Biotène

2. Develop strong relationships with dental professionals by face to face calls and medical marketing activities on a daily basis.

3. Develop professional relationship with Key Opinion Leaders

4. Develop professional relationships with dental- and dental hygienist schools.

5. Educate on the uses of GSK’s products by giving lectures and group (product-) presentations

6. Report back key findings on face to face calls, presentations, fairs and exhibitions

7. Provide regular and significant input of key activities like marketing campaigns to the dental profession, promotions and mailings.

8. Monitor competitor activities and provide input on competitor activities to dental manager.

9. Attending lectures, evening meetings as required

10. Actively participate and promote GSK’s products on Dental trade fairs, conferences and exhibitions

Job Dimensions:

Requirement to have an in-depth knowledge of the GSK oral care brands, the market and the competitor brands and be sufficiently comfortable with the technical aspects of the brands to be able to give talks to various groups of health care professionals.

Requirement to keep good territory management records and to meet all company reporting/administration requirements, (CRM system)

Requirement to demonstrate good commercial judgment and an enthusiasm for dental detailing.

Responsibilities will include working closely with marketing to ensure the material developed is appropriate for the audience and give feedback from key contacts.

Assist in the selection of Key Opinion Leaders and find way for professional cooperation

Requirement to attend meetings, conferences and training courses that will require time spent away from home (in and outside Sweden).

Home based office

Ideally, should have experience of working in dental clinics as Dental Hygienist, or has medical/dental related study background, or experience from success in a sales position.

Qualifications required:
- Driving license
- Swedish as mother tongue, English at high level both verbal and in writing

This is a field based role and traveling within the region will lead to overnight stay.
