Genzyme has a representation in all Nordic countries since 2002. Genzyme is involved in several medical research projects in hospitals all over the Nordics for both new indications for approved products, as well as for new pharmaceuticals in clinical development. In Sweden Genzyme has 15 employees with expertise in management, marketing, medical and sales. Genzyme share other valid resources and functions with Sanofi Sweden.

Genzyme has recently launched two new MS products in the Nordics. In September 2013 Aubagio (teriflunomid), one of the first oral treatments for MS and Lemtrada (alemtuzumab) was approved in the European union.

Position: Country Manager Sweden

Reports to: General Manager NOBA/Poland

Location: Office based in the Sanofi/Genzyme headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden

Genzyme Sweden is responsible for the pharmaceutical business and medical activities on the Swedish market. The total Genzyme sales in Sweden was 164 MSEK in 2014. There are two main business areas, Rare Diseases and Multiple Sclerosis with currently about 10 pharmaceuticals in the global portfolio. There are also several promising new pharmaceutical projects in the current research pipeline.

Genzyme is a key player in MS currently offering two new innovative and highly valued pharmaceuticals for the treatment of the severe disease (Aubagio® and Lemtrada™ ).
The new products give healthcare and patients new attractive treatment alternatives that create high perceived value for the MS patients (more information about MS and the products in appendix).

The Country Manager Sweden is leading the Swedish Genzyme pharmaceutical business currently counting 15 people within business management, marketing, medical and sales (10 employees in direct leadership responsibility). The Swedish business is part of the region Nordic, Baltic and Poland (NOBA/PL) at Genzyme with currently 97 employees. The region is organized in a matrix with several different functions and resources located in the different NOBA/PL countries. There are also some specific resources that are shared with Sanofi.

The Country Manager reports to the General Manager NOBA/Poland and is a member of the NOBA/Poland Management team. The Country Manager is also part of the local Swedish Sanofi/Genzyme Management team.

Genzyme has a strong image in the Healthcare market and an attractive product portfolio with a solid potential. In addition there are great resources and highly skilled personnel forming a valued offer to patients and healthcare. The challenge and opportunity for the new Country Manager is to use this attractive platform to develop the business and optimize the performance in Sweden.

We are looking for a strong leader with excellent people management and communication skills, with the ability to create motivation, engagement and dedication to the Swedish team. The new Country Manager should have a clear strategic and operational business focus with a strive for action, performance and results. The expected deliverables are business development and results beyond expectations.

· Education: University degree or equivalent
· Documented experience from successful Commercial leadership roles within Pharma/Biotech
· Solid experience from General management/Business Unit Management including managing large budgets and large workforces
· Experience from cross functional collaboration
· Market Access knowledge
· Forecasting and budgeting experience
· Product Life cycle management skills
· Regulatory Compliance knowledge
· Computer systems knowledge
· Report analysis and interpretation experience
