Genzyme has a representation in all Nordic countries since 2002. There are currently about 100 people employed in the Genzyme region Nordic/Baltic/Poland. Medical Science Liaison/Medical Advisor Sweden Rare Diseases

Position: Medical Science Liaison (MSL)/MSL/MA (MA) Sweden Rare Diseases (RD)

Reports to: Head Medical Science Liaisons Rare Diseases Nordic/Baltic (NoBa) (location: Stockholm)

Location: Preference: Stockholm area (Office based in Genzyme/Sanofi Headquarters). Possible: Gothenburg or Skåne area (access to Genzyme/Sanofi Headquarters in Copenhagen)

Genzyme is a leader on the market for Rare Diseases in Sweden. The company has an attractive product portfolio and substantial resources (in Sweden and the Nordic/Baltic/Poland cluster) that offers patients and healthcare added value treating severe and rare diseases.

In Sweden Genzyme is focusing on the following products and medical indications within the Rare Diseases Business Unit;

· Fabrazyme – Fabry disease
· Cerezyme – Gauchers disease (infusion therapy)
· Cerdelga – Gauchers disease (new oral treatment)
· Myozyme – Pompe disease
· Adurazyme - Mucopolysaccharidosis I (MPS I)

The MSL/MA is part of the Genzyme NoBa/Pl RD medical organization and will provide medical leadership and product support across Genzyme´s RD product portfolio on the Swedish market. The role includes defined individual responsibilities and duties as well as extensive cross functional collaboration with medical colleagues, marketing, sales, medical information, pharmacovigilance and clinical research. The MSL/MA team for RD is adding substantial competencies and resources to cover the need for top quality medical affairs expertise. The MSL/MA will also interact frequently with Genzyme’s and European RD medical management.

We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated MSL/MA with high energy and the ability and drive to develop, accomplish and follow up on different medical projects and tasks. The scope for the role is broad and requires an interest for working with many different tasks and duties.

We value solid relation building skills, collaboration skills, project management skills as well as excellent presentation skills for the MSL/MA role.

Purpose of the Role
Provide medical and scientific expertise regarding Genzyme’s disease areas (Lysosomal Storage Disorders (LSD) and products (Enzyme Replacement Therapies (ERT) and Substrate Reduction Therapy (SRT)) to educate Health Care Professionals (HCPs) and internal stakeholders. Guide HCPs on the optimal use of Genzyme’s products including unlicensed uses when requested. Initiate, support and co-ordinate investigator led research concepts.

Competency profile

Education, Essential skills and experience
· Medical doctor degree or Medical/scientific degree as BSc, Pharm D, MSc and/or PhD in life sciences.
· Relevant experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
· Clinical study and/or project management experience preferred.
· Experience from a Medical Affairs position or similar in the pharmaceutical industry is desirable.
· Experience in genetics and next generation sequencing is an advantage
· English written and oral fluently
· Willing to travel in Sweden on a regular basis and abroad infrequently
