Key position for growing indication for Humira, Swedens no 1 selling pharmaceutical

Humira – a great treatment for patient suffering from severe diseases
AbbVie is the company behind Humira, the world's (and Sweden's) leading pharmaceutical product with global sales of more than $10BN annually. Humira is a biologic treatment for chronic immune mediated inflammatory diseases within Rheumatology, Gastroenterology and Dermatology. Rheumatology is the largest business unit with more than 7000 patients on treatment in Sweden, with the SpA indications representing an exciting area of continued growth reflecting unmet medical needs. AbbVie Sweden is now looking for an experienced Brand Manager to head this area.

Challenge - Taking the next steps in the development of Humira for the treatment of Spondyloarthritis (SpA)
There are many patients in Sweden suffering from spondyloarthritis. There are more and more patients getting Humira as treatment for their disease, but there are still quite a lot of patients that would benefit from receiving Humira.
Humira is an effective treatment for spondyloarthritis with solid clinical documentation. Humira has a great potential to help more patients with spondyloarthritis to relief and higher quality of life.

The Brand Manager Rheumatology SpA position
Reporting to the Business Unit Manager for Rheumatology in Sweden, the Brand Manager is a cornerstone in the cross-functional Brand Team, responsible for marketing and brand management in a team that works hard to improve access to biologic SpA treatments while simultaneously protecting Humira’s market leadership position. The Brand Manager is also, together with the Business Unit Manager, heading the brand planning process and responsible for analyzing the market landscape, mapping of customers and the market environment, the collection of patient insights and the development of a Patient Journey that will serve as one of the fundaments for the Brand Strategy.

In addition, the position will entail responsibility to prepare, launch and execute AbbVie’s efforts within the coming indication (approval is expected in Q3 2016) Non-Infectious Intermediate, Posterior, or Panuveitis – a condition that could lead to vision loss and that is related to other immunologic diseases, some corresponding to Humira’s existing indications. This also means expanding the physician target group from rheumatologists to also include ophthalmologists.

The Brand Manager will also, alone or in collaboration with other members of the Brand Team, lead disease awareness and patient support activities, head the evolution of commercial campaigns, advertising and marketing material, as well as various other marketing efforts such as events, congresses and strategic health initiatives. The role requires a demonstrated ability to constructively interact and collaborate with internal (both Swedish and Global colleagues) and external (physicians, patients and other stakeholders).

· Develops and nurtures innovation/ lateral thinking, able to identify the most appropriate solutions to complex problems
· Is highly accountable and results oriented


· MBA / MSc in Business Administration/Marketing preferred, academic degree a must
· Science/Medical experience is a plus
· Experience from working with specialty pharma, knowledge in industry business, policies and procedures. Experience from the Rheumatology and Market Access field is a plus.
· Marketing experience, ideally a diverse blend of healthcare and other industries (consumer, media, digital etc.)
· Knowledge in financial processes & business acumen
· Fluent in Swedish and in English.

Must be available to travel within Sweden and internationally about 20 % of the time. Driving license is required.
