Coloplast Urology & Gynaecology Care division develops, produces and markets products for surgical treatment of urological and gynaecological disorders such as urinary stone disease, benign prostate hyperplasia, general surgery, voiding dysfunctions, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence (male and female) and prolapse treatment. All devices are developed in close cooperation with and for surgeons “Together to Care”.

Coloplast Urology & Gynaecology Care devices are available worldwide, either through its direct network of subsidiaries, or through selected and highly focused distributors, in approx. 70 countries. Key regions are: USA, Europe, Japan, Australia and Latin America. The Coloplast UC division counts approx. 700 employees including production. Sales is around 10% of the total Coloplast group.

Area Manager Urology & Gynaecology care Sweden

The role as Area Manager Urology & Gynaecology care

The Urology & Gynaecology Care (UC) division of Coloplast is now hiring a highly skilled Area Manager Urology & Gynaecology care Sweden with a national responsibility for the development of the business in Sweden.

Role Purpose

The Area Manager has the responsibility to drive sales and market share by building relationships with members in Hospital Decision Making Units (DMU’s): mainly urologists & gynaecologists but also OR manager & OR nurses, pharmacists, purchasers; county councils; tender committees etc.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve quarterly and annual sales and market share targets (according to Year and Q targets and based on strategic/tactic business plan)
• Develop an annual business plan for the area in order to achieve maximum results and fine tune this each quarter
• Grow product portfolio in hospital by direct sales and indirect sales in the community via collaboration with wholesalers and through tenders
• Develop high level product and procedure knowledge to be able to deliver optimal support to urologists and gynaecologists in operating room (OR) during surgical procedures
• Develop strong relationships and partnership with our KOL network: urologists & gynaecologist, OR manager & team, County council organisations and other DMU’s and stakeholders in order to deliver on agreed results
• Understand the market dynamics on a macro and micro level (national/regional level, Health Care (HC) legislation, HC regions & counties & hospital DMU’s, tender business)
• Deliver custom made advise and solutions to deliver high performance. Be present in OR when your customer needs support (‘Listening and responding’)
• Create partnership with urologists, gynaecologist, OR nurses and train and support them in the OR
• Analyse new market segments and introduce new products
• Invite doctors (new users of our products) for international workshops, symposia and product training courses and organise local workshops & product training courses.
• Represent Coloplast Urology & Gynaecology Care Division in (inter)national congresses and symposia and promote our products.
• Demonstrate the Coloplast Urology & Gynaecology Care Division mission, values and leadership competencies
• Use the reporting tools to provide timely and accurate feedback (CRM/monthly report)
• Participate in (inter)national sales meetings and product training sessions
• Advise the management to optimize local market development and maintenance

Required Skills and Qualifications

• BSc/MSc within health care preferably nurse or OR nurse or equivalent experience
• Commercial experience in the sales environment in medical devices in Sweden. High level of sales and business skills is a demand.
• Experience with Hospital DMU’s, healthcare regions, county council organisation and tender business in Sweden is a demand
• Experience in negotiating at a senior level
• Fluent in Swedish and English
• Knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
• Driver’s license

• Clear & strong communication skills and good appearance – able to convey a message clearly and with passion and to motivate and convince others
• Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities within data tools as well as in the relevant market segments and in general Healthcare on macro and micro level
• Understands and respects company structure, reporting system and culture
• Able to develop a clear (over)view on the Swedish Healthcare market, JC regulations and the for UC relevant market segments and stakeholders and to advise the management accordingly in a structured way and on a regular basis
• Able to give open & honest feedback and to deal with feedback both positive and negative


The position is national and travelling should be seen as a natural part of the job, approx.90% of your working time and approx.40% away from home. The position is home-based and you will be locally employed by Coloplast in Sweden.
