AstraZeneca in respiratory diseases
AZ has a long heritage in research and development of respiratory medicines and inhalers. The first clinical trial with Turbuhaler came with a positive result already in 1981 and in 1987 Bricanyl Turbuhaler was launched. This was followed of Pulmicort 1988 and in 1998 the Turbuhaler portfolio was completed with Symbicort.

We’re still pursuing leading, distinctive science in respiratory with the goal of developing life-changing medicines that reduce the global burden and complications of this serious disease.
Last year we could proudly launch our first biological treatment in the respiratory area and the coming years we will launch two new inhaled products and a new indication in asthma. At the same time the biological portfolio will develop with more treatment options launched by AZ.

Today our asthma and COPD portfolio include a broad spectrum of molecules and inhalers making us the only company covering all the most important classes of treatment in asthma and COPD:

The position – Key Account Manager South

Region: South (responsible for parts of the region that contains Skåne, Halland, Kronoberg and Blekinge)

As a Key Account Manager (KAM) for Respiratory, you will be one of 10 Key Account Managers in Sweden, part of the National Respiratory Team and play an important role in the contribution to the inhaled franchise strategy. There are two KAM Respiratory in South working close together in the region. Your role and district is a bit flexible depending on where you live and your colleague’s responsibilities today.

Key Account Manager at AstraZeneca is a field based customer-facing role responsible for the sales and customers in a defined region in this South of Sweden. The Key Account manager is responsible for respiratory communication to regional payer groups, specialists within asthma and COPD, primary care, health care professional groups, specialist organizations and other relevant regional stakeholder within County Councils and the Healthcare community. Key Account Manager is accountable for the regional business in collaboration with a cross-functional team, consisting of brand manager, market access and medical advisor

There is also a close relationship with AstraZeneca R&D in Mölndal that is responsible for R&D within Respiratory and also hosts the Global Respiratory Marketing Team.

We are in an exciting phase with both modern product portfolio with many new launches but also a very appreciated mature portfolio with well known brands as Symbicort, Pulmicort, Daxas, Eklira and more. There are extensive ongoing clinical trial programs in new products meaning more opportunities in the future with both launches and new indications.

Required profile

Qualifications and profile
• Academic degree or equivalent, commercial or healthcare background
• Solid experience from successful pharmaceutical sales, preferable from a Primary care area, respiratory knowledge is an advantage
• Experience from Market access responsibility and working with different stake holders and functions in the County Council and Healthcare community is an advantage
• Experience and success in launching new products is a positive skill
• Proven track record of strategic thinking, judgment and skills
• Proven record of strong sales performance, excellent communication and education skills
• Strong social ability with a strive to contact, meet and build long lasting relations
• A true team player with social competency, trustworthiness and with a positive and constructive mindset
• Good planning skills
• High Interest and knowledge in science
• In case you are a leadership talent, interested in developing into a future leadership position, there are opportunities within AstraZeneca
• Proven track record of engaging and developing lasting relationships with a broad base of key stakeholders in complex clinical environments, e.g., mid/senior level healthcare professionals. (desirable)
• Good understanding of the ethical code and compliance requirements
• LIF certificated within Pharma Industry or valid exemption (Pharmacist, “Receptarie”, Registered Nurse, Master in Biomedicine etcetera)
• Clean Drivers Licence
